Real talk
Stop buying the stuff that snaps by Boxing Day
You've seen it before: the plastic tower that breaks after three sessions, the painted toy that chips, the shapes that get lost in the first week. The Stack and Learn Geometric Puzzle doesn't work that way. It's solid wood, hand-finished, with a weighted base that stays put and edges smooth enough for 10-month-old hands. One puzzle, played with today, passed on next year.
Your child learns shapes and colours through actual play, not screen time. You stop filling the bin with broken plastic. Everyone wins.

While they play
What they're quietly learning while they play
Looks like play. Works like a lesson.
Shape recognition
Each time they pick up a piece, their brain maps another shape. By play 20, they're spotting circles in the world around them.
Colour naming
Red, blue, yellow, green: the colours stick faster than words from a flashcard. They're saying them before you notice.
Hand control
Picking up shapes, twisting them to fit, placing them down: fine motor skills build with every stacking session, no screens required.
Problem-solving
The square won't fit in the circle hole. That's not a failure, that's learning. They're building logic without pressure.

Our story
Making toys worth keeping since 1795.
Jaques of London was founded in 1795. We invented croquet, table tennis, and the Staunton chess set. For 230 years, we've been making things that pull children away from passive entertainment and into active, curious, hands-on play.
We started making toys in 1795 because children learn through their hands, not through screens or plastic shortcuts. The Stack and Learn Puzzle sits in that same tradition: wood feels different, it teaches differently, it lasts differently. We hand-finish every piece, test for years of play, and stand behind it with a 60-day guarantee. This isn't a trend toy you'll throw out in January. It's a puzzle your child plays with today and passes to a younger sibling tomorrow. That's why we make it, and why parents who've stopped buying plastic are buying this.
Toys and games that leave something behind: a skill, a memory, a piece of play that gets passed on.
