Christmas Story Starter Cards

How do you get children writing Christmas stories? Print these free story starters, pick one opening line and write or tell the tale for five minutes. Made for ages 7 and up (KS2, Years 3 to 6). Find more free printables by age too.

What age are the Christmas story starters for? They suit ages 7 and up, which is Key Stage 2 (Years 3 to 6), for children who like to write or to tell stories aloud.

Can we use the story starters without writing? Yes. Take turns to tell the story aloud, adding one sentence each, then read your favourite starter again next day.
